Carmen Isabel Valdes Chanis de Lewis, left us on January 6, 2020, with her family by her side at her home in Atlanta, Georgia.

Carmen was born in the Republic of Panama, Panama City, daughter of Benigno Enrique Valdes Romero† and Isabel Maria Chanis Soto de Valdes†. In 1969, she married Ralph E. Lewis, last year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with close family and friends.

Carmencita, was an exceptional daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed, we will always cherish our memories of her, Carmencita will forever be in our hearts.

Carmencita, is survived by her husband Ralph E. Lewis, her two daughters and their husbands Alicia and Sean Wilsen and Maribel and Mark Bailey, her grandson Zackary Wilsen, her two sisters Nidia Day and Gloriela Griffith, 3 nephews and their families and 5 nieces and their families.

    My most sincere condolences to Ali and family. I was very pleased to meet Carmencita around two years ago in Australia. I remember her as a gentle, caring and lovely lady to talk to. She will be dearly missed, but we can accept she is resting in peace around other Angels.

    Cuando un miembro de nuestra familia se nos va al cielo no hay forma de evitar la tristeza y pena, pero temenos la paz de que esta en el Paraiso junto a Dios.       So sad to hear of Carmen’s passing. She was indeed a special quiet soul. We enjoyed getting to know her better when her, Ralph, and children were able to visit family in Idaho.
