Billy Warren Willis

William “Billy” Warren Willis, 85, of Kingston, Ga., passed from this life peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on April 22, 2016 at Floyd Medical Center, Rome, Georgia.

Graveside service and burial will be held at Noon on Friday, April 29, 2016 at East View Cemetery, 725 Kingston Ave N.E. , Rome, Ga. with the Reverend Bob Willis and Dr. Frank Wood officiating.

Bill Willis was born at home in Oakman, Ga. to George Henry Willis and Dymple Swann Willis on November 28, 1930. He attended school at Fairmount, Ga.. He married Pamela Jones Willis on June 30, 1984 . Bill graduated from Fairmount High School, Gordon County. He worked as a supervisor for Inland- Rome for 42 years. He served his country dutifully in the Navy. During his lifetime, Bill was involved in the Coosa Country Club.

Bill Willis is preceded in death by parents, George H. Willis and Dymple Swann Willis; and an infant brother, Jimmy Willis.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-great- grandfather. He is survived by his spouse, Pam Willis of Kingston, Ga.; children: Diane Willis Wood and husband, Dr. Frank Wood of Rome, Ga.; William Michael Willis and wife, Mary Kriz Willis of Flowery Branch, Ga.; John Willis and wife, Teresa Willis of Sugar Hill, Ga.; siblings: Betty Anne TatumRalph of Oakman, Ga.; Rev. Bob WillisPhoebe of Watkinsville. Grandchildren include Kimberly Wood Burns, Stephanie Ariza, Megan Willis, Giles Willis, Aaron Willis, Sierra Wood, Amber Willis, and Ethan Willis. Great-grandchildren include Hudson Burns, Joseph Burns, Caleb Burns; John Frank Ariza and Gabriella Ariza; great-grandchild is the infant Lennon Grace Wood. Sister-in-laws Mary Siniard and Angela Mathis Billy, father-in-law J.W. Jones. Bill is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
