I have to admit I did not know much about Barry’s life off the river. All I knew was that his smiles and hugs warmed my heart. And the adventures, aww the adventure we all shared together will go down in folk lore.
Remember the time that Barry….yes, and the time that he…
I pray that God holds you in his arms and one day I’ll meet you in heaven with Jesus.
I want to say how brokenhearted I am to hear Barry is no longer with us! I worked for Barry for 5 yrs. Barry was so good to me. I loved him and will ALWAYS remember him. I just am so sad I could not tell him goodbye. No matter what milestone in my life I would share with him, he was always so happy for me. You will be missed by so many Barry. Hope to see you one day again!
Barry was one of those rare individuals whose star shone bright. His was a quiet strength that epitomized the finest aspects of what it meant to be a gentleman; his absence will be profound to those of us who knew and respected him. Barry fought the good fight with cheerfulness and without malice.
In this morning’s yoga class, we shared the sad news of Barry’s passing, naming out some of the many ways his beaming spirit touched us all, and pouring our hearts into a practice dedicated to his life journey and beyond. Barry’s extraordinary generosity radiated through his dedicated presence here, his unabashed enthusiasm for all things yoga uplifted us all, and his humor encouraged us when the going was awkward. He took his practice into life on the river, telling me of times when his ability to concentrate his focus during turbulence allowed him to use his amazing skills to land right side up and intact. What a heartache to lose Barry. May you all be held in the everlasting love stream that he has joined. Jaya, Barry!
My heart goes out to you in your great loss, and in gratitude for all the ways you have lovingly supported Barry in this transition.
With so much love to you,
Anne
Barry was a special person. We will always remember the interest he took on our son’s paddling career. Zachery joins us in expressing his condolences. Barry will be missed.
