Aurelia Long Dunnam

Services for Aurelia Long Dunnam, formerly of Thomasville, GA, will be held Saturday, January 25th, 2020 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dwayne A. Varas officiating. Mrs. Dunnam died December 25th, 2019, in Dunwoody, GA where she had resided for the past year. She was born February 22nd, 1935 in Knoxville, TN to Oscar Waldo Long, Jr. and Frances Hampshire Long, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Arthur Lee Dunnam, Jr. who also predeceased her. She is survived by two sons Arthur Lee Dunnam, III (Dana) of Maitland, FL and David Long Dunnam (Robyn) of Marietta, GA, a daughter Frances Aurelia Dunnam of Atlanta; grandchildren Kathryn Dunnam Harden (Bryant), Arthur Lee Dunnam IV, Margaret Aurelia Dunnam, Isabelle Curry Dunnam and Benjamin Bruce Dunnam; nephew Henry Lee McKenzie (Celeni); niece Lisa McKenzie McNamara (John); grandniece Julia Adele McKenzie and grandnephew John (Jack) Paul McNamara, III. She was raised in her mother’s hometown of Mobile, AL. After graduation from Murphy High School in Mobile, she attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO for two years and graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. After college, she worked as a Social Worker in Mobile until her marriage. Mrs. Dunnam and her husband, Lee, greatly enjoyed travel especially within the Elderhostel Program.
