On Saturday, September 5, 2020, Ardeth May Hacker, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 91.

Ardeth was born on January 30, 1929 in Bigfork Montana to Inez B. Warren and Adam W. Bennett. Ardeth spent her formative years in Alaska and resided near Kodiak, Alaska; Petersburg, Alaska and Long Island, Alaska.

The family were fox farmers until they were forced to move to Salem, Oregon in 1942 following the Japanese invasion of the Aleutian Islands.

On March 8, 1962, Ardeth married Warren Hacker in Baker, Montana. The Hacker’s lived in Montana and North Dakota until approximately 1973, when they relocated to Oklahoma. Warren began working in Saudi Arabia beginning in 1976. In 1984, Warren and Ardeth moved to Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia until Warren retired from ARAMCO in 1990. Warren preceded Ardeth in death.

Ardeth lived in Sand Springs, Oklahoma until 2018, when she moved to Georgia to live with her daughter, Wendy DuMond, following diagnosis of Alzheimer’s dementia.

Ardeth is survived by her daughters, Wendy DuMond of Clarkston, Georgia; Joy Kranzler of Brady Montana; Linda Knick of Brady, Montana; Dixie Hurley of Williston, North Dakota; sons Tim Hemphill of Rock Springs Wyoming; Patrick Hemphill of Pennsylvania; and Stephen Hacker of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Two of Ardeth’s children, Mike Hemphill and Kelly Hacker preceded her in death.

Ardeth loved life, animals and people. She never met a stranger. She especially loved presiding over family gatherings. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a memorial service has not yet been planned.
