Anne Farmer Roush
Anne Farmer Roush of Dacula, Georgia slipped peacefully away to meet her Savior on Tuesday, August 20th after complications from a stroke. Anne was 83, born on October 26, 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama. Anne always told her friends, “She was the cause of the Great Depression,” a true example of her wonderful sense of humor. She was the daughter of John Alvin Farmer and Helen Walker Farmer of Birmingham.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Nathan Guilian of Birmingham, son Michael Nathan Guilian, sister, Jean Farmer Russell of Statesboro and her brother, James Walker Farmer of Lake Arrowhead, California. She was the loving wife of Warren Harlow Roush for 36 years who predeceased her in December 2009.
In her earlier years, Anne wrote poetry about her family, friends, events and emotions we all experience including humorous events about life’s every day adventures.
Anne’s interest and ability to solve problems led her to an invention for women she patented and manufactured selling on QVC with her daughter in the US and Great Britain for over five years. Anne was awarded a featured spot and guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show for one of the “top” products on QVC for women entrepreneurs and was featured on CNN with Lou Dobbs and the Good Day Show in Birmingham.
She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ellen Bradley Jones of Atlanta, son-in-law, Gary Wayne Jones, nephews Rusty Russell of Valdosta, Jay Russell of LaGrange and Tony Brooks of Memphis, sister-in-law, Aileen Guilian Brooks of Birmingham, wonderful loving cousins, extended family and numerous friends.
She was an active member of Dacula Methodist Church where she found comfort among her family church friends and volunteered for a period at the Gwinnett Medical Hospital.
Anne was a loving wife and mother, well known for her passionate love for her daughter, family, friends and her kindness and compassion for all stray animals that always seemed to find their way to her front door. Her positive spirit remained until she passed, teaching us to see the glass always “half full” as there was no other way to enjoy our time here on this earth. Her strength, courage, and infectious sense of humor, even in the most trying of times, is her legacy to all that knew her and were touched by her loving spirit.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at the Dacula United Methodist Church, Dacula, Georgia in approximately one month, Thursday, September 26, at 1:00 pm and the family will host a reception at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, requests for donations to the Dacula United Methodist Church or Gwinnett County Humane Society, or any charity close to your heart.

Anne was a beautiful person and I feel honored to count her as my friend. She always had a smile and words of encouragement for everyone she met. Joking and laughing most of the time.
No doubt she loved her daughter, family, friends and animals.
She will be missed but knowing we will meet again makes her going home to God easier.
What a wonderful sweet lady. We were so sad to hear about this. She had an infectious smile that could light up a room. She was always laughing and one of the spunkest women I’ve ever met. She was like a grandmother to my children and they just adored her. She will be so missed.
We first me Anne and Warren Roush because of their dog Prissy. Prissy came to us because Anne and Warren were traveling too much and Prissy needed to be in one place with a yard. So Ms Prissy the city dog came to our “funny” farm. Anne and Warren became our fast friends and we did come to see them in Dacula. They were great people and loved by all who met them. I will miss Anne, my phone pal, very much. Our friendship goes back to 1987. Her practical jokes and sense of humor will always be remembered by her out West friends in the Redding “lunch bunch”.
