Anna Elizabeth Callahan Morley, 91 of Sandy Springs/Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010. She was born in Glenridge, NJ on May 8, 1918. Her family moved in 1924 to Lakeland, FL, where she grew up. She was Salutatorian of her graduating class at Lakeland High School. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida Southern College, Lakeland in 1940 where she became a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, Alpha Psi Omega national honorary dramatics fraternity, and the Vagabond Players. She married our dad in 1942. They lived in Lakeland, Jacksonville and in 1961 the family moved to Atlanta where she was employed at Northside Hospital in the office of Human Resources. She was active in the Episcopal Church of the Atonement as a member of the choir, a Lay Reader, a Lay Eucharistic Minister, a Daughter of the King, and a member of the cast of “Our Town.” At the Episcopal Church of St. Peter and St. Paul she was a graduate of Education for Ministry, a member of the Alpha Class, and a member of the Folder Folk. She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Helen Elizabeth Morley May. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Frank H. Morley, Jr.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Harold Pirkle of Tifton, GA; Pat and Larry West of Roswell, GA; one son, Frank H. Morley III of Atlanta, and one son-in-law, Jim May of Little Rock, AR. She has seven grand children: Anna Pirkle and Emily Pirkle, of Atlanta, David Matheny of Dacula, Traci Kratchmer of Marietta, Larry West of Roswell, Katelyn and Malcolm Cartwright of Little Rock; and three great grandchildren, Sean Dominguez of Marietta, and Julie and Emily Matheny of Dacula. A memorial service will be held at the Episcopal Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Marietta, GA, Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 2:00 pm.
