Peace-of-Mind Cremation Process
Providing our families with the peace-of-mind they are entitled to during the cremation process is of utmost concern to us. As a result, we have developed the most rigorous set of operating policies and procedures in order to maximize our level of service and minimize the potential for human error. To accomplish this we, we have created a ten step “Peace-of-Mind Cremation Process”. In addition to this process, we require licensed professionals to oversee the operation of our cremation equipment at all times and all of our professional staff members have completed a voluntary cremation certification program. None of these safeguards are required by law and to our knowledge no other cremation facility in the state can match our rigid operating procedures. But with the responsibility you have entrusted with us, why should you expect anything less. Our crematory is open for inspection during normal business hours and we allow family members to be in attendance during the cremation process.
10-Step Peace-of-Mind Cremation Process
Five Steps Prior to Cremation
- Our I D tag is placed on your loved one at the moment they arrive at our facility. This tag will stay with them throughout the process and will be placed in the urn upon completion.
- At our facility the cremation container in which your loved one is placed is labeled with their name and they are carefully put into our secure refrigeration unit.
- Your loved one is logged onto our crematory tracking sheet with date of death and attendants name. Any personal items are recorded as well.
- A licensed crematory professional views your loved one reviews all paperwork accompanying the remains and completes and signs a certificate of cremation form.
- The cremation is scheduled and the crematory operator reviews all paperwork including the cremation authorization, certificate of cremation and any family instructions. The paperwork is attached to the front of the crematory prior to the start of the cremation.
Five Steps During and After Cremation
- Your loved one is removed from our refrigeration facility and the crematory tracking sheet is updated with the date and time of cremation and the crematory operators name
- After the cremation, the crematory operator removes all of the cremated remains from the crematory chamber. The cremated remains are then cooled and processed, with each step being recorded on the tracking sheet.
- The cremated remains along with the I D tag are placed into the permanent or temporary urn selected by the family. The urn is affixed with an identification label. The urn is then held in our secure facility for pick up by the family or delivered to its final place if interment
- The family, cemetery representative or whomever has been entrusted to take receipt of the cremated remains sign a receipt of cremated remains slip and it is then retained as a record of pick up
- All information including the tracking sheet, certificate of cremation, cremation authorization and all original paperwork is kept as a permanent record.
