Shirley Ann Browne Staton

A proud graduate of Ursuline High School in Louisville, Shirley carried the values instilled in her during her formative years throughout her life. Her deep Catholic faith was a guiding force, and she was an original member of All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody, Georgia, where she remained a devoted parishioner for many years.
Shirley shared a loving marriage of 68 years with her husband, Euell Eugene (Gene) Staton. Together, they raised three children: son Mark Staton (Meg) and daughters Lynn Dearing (Bruce) and Donna Rudolph (Nate). As a beloved mother, her care and devotion extended to her 12 grandchildren—Tamara Tucker, David Landseadel (Greg), Will Shilling (Maggie), Jacob Staton, Michaela Staton, Katelyn McNeil (RJ), Ryan Hill (Ryan), Nick Dearing (Alyssa), Samantha Deatrick (Michael), Emily Dearing, Conner Rudolph (Neydi) and Sophie Rudolph—as well as her eight great-grandchildren. Shirley was also cherished by her many nieces and nephews. Her warmth, strength and humor touched all who knew her, and she spent her final years at Canterfield of Kennesaw Independent Living, where she formed many valuable friendships.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Pat Browne and Louise Simpson Browne; two sisters, Mary Browne and Rose Johnson (Robert); four brothers—Pat Browne (Martha), Kenny Browne (Doris, Billie), Donnie Browne (Dottie), and Frank Browne (Patty); and sister-in-law Mary Jeannine Faulkner (Jeannie)—whose memories she cherished throughout her life.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, located at 2443 Mt Vernon Road, Dunwoody, GA. A reception will follow in the social hall after the Mass.
Shirley leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire generations.
