RK and I go back 47 years. Running and gunning Zone 2 morning watch under Lt. Dennis Britt. Those were the days. Ken and I were the Buckhead APD team back in the day and it pained me greatly to see his passing. A little ne if a kind individual and a helluva police officer. Rest easy my friend. Be at peace ever lasting. Those of us who remain will remember and cherish our memories of our friendship.

God Bless the family and friends of Ken Batson during this time of bereavement. I pray that the sadness that you are experiencing now will be replaced with wonderful thoughts and memories of his lifetime on earth and the many wonderful times you shared.
I will miss his presence here on this earth and affectionally recall the many conversations we shared. Most of all I will miss that reassuring smile when times were tough.
Although I didn’t have the privilege of working with him as a patrolman, he was known to be an exceptional police officer. We did, however, work together as supervisors. Ken had a quiet, easygoing manner and a thorough knowledge of the law and he possessed a natural ability of leadership. His personality and quiet demeanor as well as his sound judgement and decision-making skills inspired his officers to perform their duties to enforce the law with skill and compassion for the people we were sworn to serve. Ken was the type of person that was an asset to the Atlanta Police Department at a time when most of our officers were young and inexperienced. He left a piece of himself in everyone that knew him
