William Conn

William Bill Conn, 80, of Norcross died July 31, 2012 from complications of Alzheimer’s, a heart attack and pneumonia with his family at his side. Bill was born May 30, 1932 to Andrew and Sarah Conn in New Bedford, MA. He was a Navy veteran and graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Textile Chemistry. He worked for Union Carbide for 21 years, retired and went to work for 17 years at Kimberly Clark in their non-woven department. He developed several products and obtained 3 patents for them. Bill was involved with the Boy and Girl Scouts and square dancing. After retirement, he and his wife traveled in Europe, Canada and the US. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elaine; daughter Susan Nish of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law Bill and Gail Conn of Stockbridge; grandchildren Christopher and Sarah Nish of Gainesville and Melissa and Nicole Conn of Stockbridge. A memorial service will be held Friday August 3, 2012 at 1:00pm at Christ Church Episcopal on Holcomb Bridge Road in Norcross with visitation following the service.
