Peggy Johnston Burleson of Atlanta passed away on April 11th after a five year battle with ovarian cancer. She was the daughter of Frances Wiley Johnston Parish and Malcolm G. Johnston. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana where they remained until she was six years old. The family moved to Daytona Beach, Florida and she attended Mainland High School where she was the first female president of the student body. She attended the University of Florida where she met her husband Warren Richard Burleson of Pensacola, Florida. She and her husband lived abroad for 10 years in Brussels, Belgium and Medillin, Columbia, then moving to New York before settling in Atlanta. Her husband Warren died of lymphoma in 1983. She worked for eighteen years for the family business, Franwylie Ladies Boutique in Buckhead. She is survived by her only sister, Diane Johnston Puckett, her niece, Dina Puckett Berthen and her husband Lief K. Berthen, her nephew, Kyle Wiley Puckett and his wife Rosemari Felix Puckett and her great-nephew, Niles Kristian Berthen. She was cremated and laid to rest in the family plot at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Sandy Springs with Dr. Gil Watson of Northside Methodist Church officiating. A celebration of life was held after the service.
