Michael Joseph Feeney Armistead
With great sadness we announce the death of Feeney Armistead (Michael Joseph Feeney Armistead). Feeney passed away April 15, 2022, at the age of 33.
Feeney was a loving son, protective big brother to his sister Lia, and a compassionate and supportive friend to many, all who adored him. As an organ donor, his generous spirit lives on through many transplant recipients. We will remember Feeney’s love of travel and adventure, his many “Feeney-isms” (simmer down sister, dooods, legend), his enjoyment of jazz and blues, his hiking trails and visiting National Parks, and, as a University of Georgia speech/communication major (Class of 2012), his talented and inspired way with the written word. Most of all we will remember his unbridled passion for the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.
An excellent baseball player, Feeney played in the Cal Ripken Little League National Championship and in an international baseball tournament in Tokyo representing Australia, where he lived with his family as an expat for eight years. He played for St. Pius (Class of 2007). As a young adult, he played for many community sports teams. We know he is playing tennis now with his Grandpa Mike in heaven.
Feeney is survived by his parents, Kathy & Chris Armistead, his sister Lia Armistead, his Grandma Ann, Great Aunt Kay, many aunts, uncles, cousins, his loyal dog Fred, and so many friends who miss him greatly.
A celebration of life will be April 23rd at 11am at All Saints Catholic Church Gymnasium, 2443 Mt. Vernon Road, Dunwoody, Georgia 30338. Please feel free to wear your UGA or Braves jersey, hockey sweater, and/or baseball hat in his honor.

I’m so sorry for your loss, Chris. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Celebrate Feeney’s life, as he will never be forgotten. He will live in your hearts forever.
I have very fond memories of Feeney (and his mates) pitching in to make pasta and meatballs at our Melbourne pastafest. He will be remembered as a caring, spirited and talented young man. We celebrate Feeney…and our thoughts and prayers are with the Armistead family and friends. KLC
Feeney was a funny, charming little boy, a go getter in his teen years and a charismatic young man. He will be deeply missed. Kathy and Chris, I remember you were always there with love.

My heart breaks for all of you. I have no words but please know we love you and are praying for peace and healing for all of you.
I am devastated to read this. Feeney was one of my favorite people and was one of the first students I taught in my first year at Pius. We kept in touch through the years, and I met him for coffee to talk about his writing. I ran into him at REI a few years ago, and right now I’m looking at the nativity set he gave me, made by his grandmother. What a loss. Prayers for you and Feeney, may he rest in peace. 💔
I am so saddened by Feeney’s passing. As his second grade teacher, I have such fond memories of Feeney as a little boy. It was a joy for me to continue to be his penpal after his move to Australia. I was so proud of him for his accomplishments on the baseball field. I continue to be proud of him for his gift of life to others through his organ donations.
