Marguerite Sylvia Hardeman Moore, 94, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Mrs. Moore was the oldest of nine children born to Sarah Lucille Maroney Hardeman and Scrub Wilson Hardeman, Sr. in Atlanta, Georgia. She was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Moore grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, attended Cascade Heights School and worked for Western Union Telegraph Company during World War II. Ms. Moore retired from Fulton County Board of Education in 1983 after 18 years of service where she served as the school secretary at Marion Smith Elementary School in College Park, Georgia.

Mrs. Moore spent the last three years of her life as a resident of Ashton Senior Assisted Living in Gainesville, Georgia. The staff there provided her kind and loving care for which the family will always be grateful.

She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years Frederick “Fred” Needham Moore, parents, sister Virginia “Jenny” Strietelmeier and brothers Scrub Wilson Hardeman, Jr., Paul Hardeman, Jack Hardeman and James David “J.D.” Hardeman.

Mrs. Moore is survived by son and daughter-in-law Jay and Kathy Moore of Fayetteville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law Jan and Mike Windhorst of Gainesville, Georgia; grandson and family Hank and Kristin Windhorst and great grandchildren Ward, Annie and Elizabeth Windhorst of Marietta, Georgia; granddaughter and family Emily and Jonathan Wisdom and great grandchildren Nathan and Ellie Wisdom of Anderson, South Carolina; Her sisters Constance “Connie” Cole of Dallas, Georgia, Joyce Schulman of Marietta, Georgia, Deloris “Dee” Benefield of Hapeville, Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

The family will hold private graveside services at Hillcrest Cemetery in Loganville, Georgia.
