Jay was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Sept. 15, 1926. She was the oldest daughter born to Anna and Fred S. Andrews, who preceded her in death. Her brother, Fred A. Andrews; and son, Martin S. Stodola, also died previously.

Jay was baptized in Van Horne, Iowa, in 1926 and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, in 1942. She attended the University of Iowa. She was employed in the credit field until her retirement at the age of 72.

She is survived by a sister, Sally L. Andrews of Memphis, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Mona Andrews and her sons, Dr. John Andrews and Mark Andrews of Montana; daughter, Jolynn J. Stodola of Roswell, Ga.; sons, Christopher D. Stodola of Duluth, Ga., Robert A. Christin Stodola of Woodstock, Ga., Troy M. Stodola of Roswell, Ga., Karen and Bill Taylor of Cumming, Ga.; grandchildren, Melanie Phillips, Jennifer Taylor, Brianna and Michael Elrod, Amanda and Eli Howard, Chaz Stodola, Corey Stodola and Miranda Stodola; and great-grandchildren, Owen Elrod, Easton Elrod, Lyndley Elrod and Aubrie Anne Howard.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 13 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5575 Peachtree Parkway, Norcross, GA 30092. The Rev. Thomas Kenny will conduct the service with communion.
