Born in: Birmingham, AL
Resided in: Roswell, GA

Jacqueline Sudduth Pittman, 94, of Birmingham, AL and Roswell, GA went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 28, 2021.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Pearson Sudduth and Louise Hodges Sudduth, her sister Jane Sudduth Burchfield, and her husband, James Noel Pittman. Her survivors include her daughters, Donna Pittman Smith, Pamela Pittman Wall, her son, James Noel Pittman, Jr., her granddaughters, Ansley Denihan, Jacqueline Smith, Jenny Romero and Lilly Pittman, and grandsons, Chase Pittman, Graham Smith, Preston Pittman and Whit Pittman, along with nine great grandchildren.

Jacqueline attended Shades Cahaba High School in Birmingham where she met the love of her life, James. They both then attended Howard College (now Samford University), married in 1946, and raised their family in Birmingham and Atlanta.

Jacqueline was a loving mother, eschewing the more domestic demands of life to give her children the lasting gifts of art, poetry and the beauty of God’s creation in nature and people. She hit her sweet spot as a grandmother. The grands were her passion, along with the beach, gardening and the arts. She was an accomplished visual artist in the disciplines of painting, clay, floral and textile arts. She was an unconventional southern woman who loved travel and adventure, a mischievous character who ate dessert first and went to great lengths to create fun and laughter for her friends and family.

She has been looking forward for several years now to “Crossing the Bar” to her forever home where her family and a host of friends have welcomed her to her glorious eternal life in Jesus Christ her Lord.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones.” Psalms 116:15

The family would like to thank her devoted caregivers, Jemolyn, Barbara and Franca at Heather House, Roswell for their loving friendship and care of Mom through her last years to her last hours

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be sent to SheIsSafe.org., SamaritansPurse.org., or Revival.com/giving.
