Hope Tomi Ursa
Hope Tomi Kimura Ursa, age 93 of Roswell, GA, left this world on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in the company of her beloved family. A native of Chicago, IL, she was predeceased by her parents, Naojiro Kimura and Susan Milne; her brother, James Kimura; and her sons, Charles S. and Wayne M. Ursa. She is survived by her children, Mark A. Ursa, Richard M. Ursa, and Diane McFadden (Carl). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jessica D. Loflin (Dylan), Annitta K. McFadden, Stephen Ursa, and Tomiko Ursa; great-grandchildren Shaun Ursa, Chloe A. Schwarz, Jax McCollum; and great-great-grandchild Venus Tucker.
Born in 1927, Hope was a beloved and devoted mother to her children and a good friend to many. Her kindness and generosity extended far beyond her family and friends. She lived through many seminal events in history throughout her lifetime. She worked through The Great Depression, helping her family survive during this difficult time. She watched her brother serve in both World War II and the Korean War. Because her father was Japanese, she learned the hard way how judgmental and cruel people can sometimes be, yet she was generous of heart, and her compassion and empathy knew no boundaries.
She reveled in the joy of being a mother and celebrated, with a heart full of pride, the accomplishments of her children. Mom worked many jobs to give her family everything they needed. Hope made sure her children were well educated and that they always had the opportunity to share in and enjoy the things she loved such as the arts. She was a devoted Cubs fan, and she was thrilled when they finally won a World Series in her lifetime. A great cook and baker, she passed these talents along to her children. and she especially loved Chinese food. She was like a second mother to all of her nieces and nephews by marriage. She was a longtime, devoted friend to her old school chums, never forgetting a birthday or event in their lives. Hope lived a very full and rich life. She will always be loved, adored, and missed by so many.

I miss you so much. You were always there for me. We shared so many girly things and I feel a little lost without you. I know you would tell me to keep moving forward,so, I’ll try to honor that. To say I’m heartbroken is an understatement. I hope that you are at peace.

I miss you dearly Grandma. You inspire me everyday. I wish you were still here so I could tell you over and over how much you mean to me and how full you made my life. All of it, the entire time. I can feel your energy and that’ll be enough until we meet again. I love you.
I’m going to miss you so much grandma. I’m so thankful for the last two days that I got with you. The only thing that makes it hurt a little less, is knowing that you are with uncle chuck and my father now. Every time I watch old movies, I will think of you and growing up in a house where turner classic movies was always playing on at least one TV in the house. It will be my comfort when I’m sad. I loved your kind nature, and your sass, and how beautifully you always put yourself together. You were an amazing woman and I will miss you terribly. I love you.
