The Hokie Nation is very saddened to hear of Gregg’s passing. Gregg and his family are valuable members of our H2Okie family and we are praying for you all. Please know we all recall so many great moments with Gregg. He was a fantastic swimmer for the Hokies and his famous “Blue Car” cheer set the tone for our swim meets. Those are memories I and so many will always cherish. I know Gregg was loved by all of us who knew him as he was such a kind and respectful person. He was always a great teammate, well beyond his years at Virginia Tech.

Gregg borrowed my bicycle for a triathalon while he was still in Knoxville. Afterwards, he told me that he had two flat tires during the race – so what I thought was going to help him compete ended up being an impediment. He was greatful for the thought.
