    My hearth is broken at the sad news: we met in Knoxville and worked together in Italy for almost 3 years. He was enjoying life in Milan and he finally even learned italian…He was a smart engineer, dedicated employee and a good boy. I will miss you Gregg!

    The Hokie Nation is very saddened to hear of Gregg’s passing. Gregg and his family are valuable members of our H2Okie family and we are praying for you all. Please know we all recall so many great moments with Gregg. He was a fantastic swimmer for the Hokies and his famous “Blue Car” cheer set the tone for our swim meets. Those are memories I and so many will always cherish. I know Gregg was loved by all of us who knew him as he was such a kind and respectful person. He was always a great teammate, well beyond his years at Virginia Tech.

    Gregg borrowed my bicycle for a triathalon while he was still in Knoxville. Afterwards, he told me that he had two flat tires during the race – so what I thought was going to help him compete ended up being an impediment. He was greatful for the thought.

    I had the pleasure of introducing Gregg to the sport of water polo while at UT, and the good fortune to cross paths many times throughout the years at tournaments.     We were so sorry to hear of Gregg’s passing. He was a wonderful young man who was kind enough to put up with our 2 kids as their favorite babysitter. Gregg’s parents were terrific neighbors and we remember Gregg’s interest in wildlife and gardening. Such a sad loss. Our condolences to his family.
