  8. Cindy Burson says:

I am Frieda’s neighbors, Lindsay Burson Metcalf’s mother. I only met Frieda a few times when Lindsay & Casey were moving in across the street from them. When I met her, I could tell she was a wonderful person when I told her they had 2 Great Danes they were bringing to neuMetcalf’s. Frieda told me she was excited & would love having all of them as their neighbors including their dogs. Lindsay always told me she could not have asked for better friends/neighbors & she will be greatly missed. Just wanted u to know that she affected me with just a few visit and I’m sure she must have touched many more lives that you did not know. Family, please know that Lindsay & Casey will always be there if needed including keeping your dog if needed. Very saddened to hear this news, but also am happy for her knowing Frieda is in the hands if the Lord. May God bless you all.

I was friends with Frieda through CMSS in Dallas and had kept up on FB. This is a shock and my prayers go out to the family. She always carried a vivacious smile on her face that I will always remember. She also welcomed my youth choir from FUMC Cary NC into her church. Frieda will be missed for sure but our loss is heaven’s gain.

  16. Jennifer Turner says:

So much sadness & heartbreak, but also so many wonderful memories of a spirit that soured bigger than life itself.
Oh the memories…we talked of writing a musical about Paul’s Damascus Road experience. We joked when we saw the Gaither’s that all of the ladies were “teasin’ it to Jesus” with their hairstyles. But mostly I will remember her as my choir director, saying “paint the picture”…she always encouraged us to use our voices, our expressions, our very being to convey the message in the song. And wasn’t she the very best example of that…her life surely painted the picture for God, for her family & for her friends.
Thoughts & prayers are surely with her family & friends now…take comfort in your memories of her & in the legacy she leaves us.
