Frances C. Lovingood 01/13/25 – 03/11/11

Frances is survived by her niece Frances “Cissie” Berntson, who she raised as her own, her husband Gary Berntson and their three children Christine, Nicholas, and David; niece Carol Heirs and husband Glen and children, Joe, Jay, Jeremy, and Justin; nephew Larry Lovingood and wife Donna and their children Derek and Travis; niece Susan Duncan and husband David Duncan and their children Amy, Brian, and Andrew; nephew Robert Lovingood and wife Melanie and their children Jed, Ashley, and Autumn and many great nieces and nephews, friends including friend of 57 years, Virginia Canady.

Frances was brought up in the church and as she grew physically, her spiritual life blossomed. As one of the first six members of Caleb Road Baptist Church of Centerville, GA, her love of God touched many in the Centerville community. In recent years she joined Zoar United Methodist Church and was a member of the Guiding Light Sunday school class.

Frances was a dedicated teacher on both the college and high school levels. She retired many years ago from Decatur High School, where she was honored as Teacher of the Year.

Her many passions included gifts to children’s organizations such as World Vision and a great concern for all of God’s animals and their care.

In lieu of flowers she would be honored by contributions made to children and youth groups or to any of the animal support organizations.

A memorial service to honor the life of Frances Lovingood will be held at Zoar United Methodist Church, Snellville, GA. at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 19th, 2011.
