Evelyn M. Thompson, 76, passed away on September 7, 2011 after a long and difficult struggle with vascular dementia. Evelyn was a native of West Virginia but lived the past fifty years in Marietta and Acworth. Evelyn’s joy was her family. She was devoted to her husband, her children, and her precious grandchildren.
Evelyn was known by her family and friends for her intelligence, loyalty, fierce independence, and generosity. She loved to read and was creative and artistic. Evelyn retired from the Pittman Company.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Bill Thompson, her children and their spouses; Mary and Doug Tant, Leisa Bailey and Paul Ginn, Michael and Lori Bailey, and Michael and Kim Thompson; and her beautiful grandchildren; Allison Ginn, Lindsay Tant, Sarah Bailey, Ryan Bailey, Casey Thompson, and Trent Thompson. Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved first son Mark Bailey, her cherished first grandchild Adam Tant, and her sweet sister Anna Jean Duncan.
Evelyn requested there be no public service and in lieu of flowers donations be made to Alzheimer’s Disease & Related Disorders, 41 Perimeter Center East Suite 550 Atlanta, GA 30346
