David Kern Dober, aged 71, formerly of Little Rock, AR, passed away at home on September 5, 2013, from pancreatic cancer. David was born on August 16, 1942, in Sandusky, OH, to the late David Thomas and Dorothy Ann Partenfelder Dober.

David earned his Eagle Scout award at the age of 14 and is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He began his banking career in Little Rock. David relocated to Atlanta in 1989 as an Account Officer with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. He was also a residential real estate agent for Coldwell Banker, a Project Manager in the Southeast Regional Site Development Office for Sprint, and a sales associate at Dillard’s Northpoint Mall. David also served as President of the Glen Eves Homeowners Association for seven years. David was a longtime tennis player and played on numerous ALTA and USTA league teams and was an avid Razorbacks football fan.

He is survived by his companion of 20 years, Susan McKane Fritts, daughters Deborah Belyeu and husband Lee of Plano, TX, Carol Wold and husband Scott of Little Rock, Hannah Wilems and husband James of The Woodlands, TX, son Mark Dober of San Francisco, sister Marjorie King and husband Terry of Jackson, TN, and brother Tom Dober and wife Katherine of Little Rock. Other survivors include eight grandchildren, a niece, and four nephews.
The body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church at 12:30 p.m. on September 9, 2013. Donations may be made to St Luke’s Presbyterian Church, 1978 Mt Vernon Highway, Dunwoody, GA 30338, or to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
