Constance “Connie” Onderko, 92, passed away March 29, 2019 at The Fountainview
Center for Alzheimer’s Disease in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born January 25, 1927 to
William “Reno” and Barbara (Christian) Julian. After high school, she went to work at
the Westinghouse plant in Fairmont, where she aided the war effort as an inspector on a
line of radar tubes. She was raised in Watson but made a home in Kingmont with her
family where she lived her entire life.

Connie was a member of the Kingmont Womens Auxiliary for many decades and held many offices.
Their mission was to provide a safe and loving community for all. While raising her children
she was PTA President for several years and served on countless school committees throughout
her children’s school years. In later years she enjoyed spending time at the lake with her family
especially her grandchildren. Connie was the most positive person anyone could know.
No matter how bad the situation she could always find a positive side.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents William “Reno” and
Barbara (Christian) Julian; her son John William Onderko; two brothers and sister-inlaws;
John “Tubby” Julian and wife Rose; and Sam “Ace” Julian and wife Betty.
Several sister and brother-in-laws; Steve and Phyllis Onderko; Walter and Ann Turek;
Richard and Mary Langsdale; Zvonimir and Margaret Bogden; Perry and Helen Patton;
John and Hilda Onderko; Steve and Alice Tonkovich; and Mike Onderko.

Connie is survived by her daughter and son and their families: Georgana Onderko
Potesta and her husband John Potesta of Atlanta, GA; and her son, George Onderko
and his wife Sherilyn Onderko of Fairmont. Five grandchildren: John Ian Potesta and
wife Jacquelyn of Cincinnati, Ohio; Ryan Anthony Potesta of Venice, California; Dylan
Hunter Onderko Second Lieutenant US Army, stationed at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri;
Garrett Onderko of Fairmont; and Carson Onderko of Fairmont. One great grandson,
John Julian Potesta. Connie is also survived by her sister-in-law, Kathy Onderko and
several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated April 23 at 11:00AM with Father Jojan
Joseph at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 413 Maryland Avenue,
Fairmont, WV. The family will receive friends before mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will
be at Mount Zion Mausoleum.

    I have so many fond memories of Aunt Connie growing up. She always treated us like gold and was always my “older lady” role model. She used to always laugh and say i was like her and just told it like it was. She will be missed.RIP Aunt Connie. ❤️❤️
