My condolences to the family of this dear gentleman. He touched the lives of so many. Mr. Lofton always had a compliment or encouraging word for others. His joyful spirit will live on in our hearts!
Mr. Lofton was a loved and valued member of the Harriett G. Darnell Adult Day program. Mr. Lofton was a member of the Bells of Darnell hand bell group and the Diamonds in the Rough dance group. He also participated in every dramatic presentation and special event that occurred during his tenure in the program. Over the years, Mr. Lofton portrayed Nelson Mandela, President Obama, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and read countless speeches, poetry, and narratives. Mr. Lofton was an alum of the Adult Coordinator and one of his fellow participants, as they all graduated from Savannah State College. One of his fellow participants was also a “Que Dog” Mr. Lofton would proudly proclaim “Omega Psi Phi until I die”. Mr. Lofton will be dearly missed, as he was a joy to be around….all the time! May God rest his soul.
