Charles Harvey McMullen

Charles Harvey “Cotton” McMullen passed away on May 3rd 2015. He was born in Atlanta On February 3rd, 1933 to the late William H. and Kathleen Williams McMullen. Cotton attended both Bass Jr. & Bass senior High schools where he lettered in football, baseball, & basketball, & enjoyed singing in school talent shows , & other venues in & around Atlanta. He also attended West Georgia college and Georgia State University. He served in the navy aboard the USS Philippine Sea carrier during the Korean war. He spent many years as a sales professional.  In later years he thoroughly enjoyed singing to riders as he drove the train at the Atlanta Zoo. He also enjoyed singing at McKinnon’s Louisiane restaurant and piano bar for over 30 years where he made many friends. Cotton was preceded in death by daughters Suzanne Storm and Kay Scott. He is survived by wife Penny, son in law, Tom Scott , stepdaughter Lisa Smith David , stepson Armand Wells  III, step grandchildren Cameron and Ansley Smith , Addison and Cooper Wells,  and several cousins. A memorial service is being planned. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
