Anna Taylor Brewer, 83, of Atlanta, GA, and formerly of Moultrie, GA, died Tuesday September 29, 2020, in Sandy Springs, GA, at the home of daughter, Eva Walston. Graveside rites at Westview Cemetery in Moultrie will be announced at a later time.

Anna T. Brewer was born on January 22, 1937 in Doerun, GA, to the late Floyd and Eva Taylor. In 1954, she graduated from Doerun High School, and in 1958 she received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Birmingham-Southern College, where she was a member of AOII sorority. On December 28, 1958, she married Samuel F. Brewer. After working as a high school biology teacher in Birmingham, AL, she and Sam moved in 1960 to Doerun and later to Moultrie. From 1961 to 1971 she had five children. While in Moultrie she founded a men’s clothing store, Code 3. In 1984, she and her family moved to Athens where she studied microbiology at Athens Tech, subsequently working as a lab technician for the University of Georgia. She moved again with Sam to Birmingham in 1991, where she worked as a bookkeeper at Steak-Out Restaurant for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Samuel F. Brewer and her brother, Mack Taylor and his wife Martha. She is survived by three sons, Ford Brewer and wife, Lori of Raleigh, NC, John Brewer and wife, Felicia, and Matt Brewer and wife, Jacque, all of Birmingham, AL; two daughters, Eva Walston and husband, Allen Walston of Sandy Springs, GA, and Molly Ihlbrock and husband, Ingo Ihlbrock of Berlin, Germany; nine grandchildren, Eliza Brewer, Taylor Brewer, Mariana Brewer, Cecilia Brewer, Payton Brewer, Blake Brewer, Anna Walston, David Walston, and Emily Ihlbrock; and one brother, Elkin Taylor and his wife, Kit.
