Cynthia Russell Kelly

Cynthia (Russell) Kelly, age 66, passed away on May 31, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia. A devoted aunt and beloved friend, she will be remembered and treasured by all who knew her.
Affectionately known as “Cindy,” she was recognized for her warm smile and contagious laugh, which brought joy to those around her.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Drake Russell, and her brother, Richard R. Russell.
A native of Atlanta, she attended Riverwood High School before earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Auburn University, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
An avid reader, Cindy was an active member of a book club in Bellevue, Washington, where she delighted in hosting fellow members. She was also a Master Gardener and a member of the Junior League in Colorado.
Raised in the Buckhead area, she was a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church.
Cindy enjoyed a distinguished career in Human Resources, serving as a Vice President and HR Business Partner for companies including VISA and IA American Holdings, Inc., where she formed many lasting relationships.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara (Hines) Powell, and brother-in-law, Tommy Powell; her nephews, Brad Henderson (Kaylynn) and Matthew Henderson (Kelly); her nieces, Collins, Remy, and Teddi; and her nephew, Finn—all of whom cherished her deeply.
We love and miss you, Cindy, but we find comfort in knowing you are safe in God’s hands.
A private inurnment will take place at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
She was a blessing to all who knew her, and is now part of “the church triumphant”” as she looks down upon us from heaven. Cindy, your support and friendship will be greatly missed.
She will be missed terribly.
