Corinne M. (King) Spreen , of Marietta passed away Saturday December 22, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Mary M. (Clay) and DeKoven King and brothers DeKoven and Cassius King. She is survived by her husband Howard C. Spreen, son, Russell C. and wife Kathleen Spreen of Westchester, PA grandson, Christopher Spreen, and sister Aileen R. Buckner of Alexander, NC Mrs. Spreen grew up in Norfolk, VA beach area, graduated from Kempsville High School and attended Wm. & Mary, Norfolk division in 1944 , and worked for W.H. Swan Ship Chandler Co. until she moved to NYC in 1950, and married Howard in 1951. Through Howard’s jobs lived in , Maywood, NJ, Bethel Park, PA; Randolph, NJ and Marietta, GA in 1978. When not working as a bookkeeper for various companies was involved in volunteer work at church, hospital or community. Corinne enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, sewing, and made many friends at the bridge table. In later life enjoyed keeping up with family and treasured friends via the computer. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your favorite charity . The family will receive friends at Parc at Piedmont 999 Hood Rd Marietta, GA 30068 from 2:30 pm until 3:30 January 3, 2019 , with a private inurnment at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA at a later date.

    Russ, I’m very sorry to hear of Corinne’s passing. The last time I heard from her was January 1, 2018. Your son had been to see her with his fiancée. She was so proud of him. Since I had not heard from her, I knew something must be wrong. I tried getting in touch with you via Facebook and didn’t hear from you. Last January was the only time she didn’t send me a birthday message in 69 years. She was a remarkable lady and good friend to my mother. I hope Howard is doing well. Love, Carol Marshall Scott
