Helen was a terrific neighbor to us over the last couple of years. I wish we had gotten to know her sooner! The first time I met her, I immediately felt close to her because she reminded me so much of my own family. She will be missed.

Carolyn and Mary Margaret, I just learned of your mother’s death. She was such a strong, faithful, Christian friend. She kept our circle at Decatur First together for many years and then continued our Christmas party tradition with the ornament swap. I am grateful that I was able to call her friend.
Helen was a longtime member of the Decatur-DeKalb Retired Educators Association and will be greatly missed. Prayers are surrounding Helen’s family!!
Mrs. Chilton was an amazing teacher. Firm, consistent, but most of all caring. She always challenged us and pushed us passed our limits. Best teacher in the world!!! I’m grateful to have been her student. She will be greatly missed…
Mrs. Chilton was my favorite teacher, having taught me both Algebra I and II at Towers High School in the early 1980s. She was a wonderful person, very patient, very eclectic in teaching her students, and really found great ways to help us learning (Enjoy My Dear Aunt Sally, for how to do math problems in order of Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, then Subtraction-this has stuck with me 40 years).
God Bless You Helen Chilton!
