Linda Jean Posner, age 71, of Temple, GA passed away peacefully October 30, 2020 with family at her side. She was born March 6, 1949 in Long Beach, California to Charles and Mary Ann.

It would be incorrect to say that Linda lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Linda stayed strong! Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like. There was no quit in Linda!

Linda earned a Bachelor Degree in Animal Science from University of California, Davis and a Master in Education from Cal Poly, Pomona. She found delight over the years in employment that ranged from cancer lab technician to doing feasibility studies in Uganda, but her most satisfying work was as a Life Science, Biology, and Agriculture high school instructor. nnShe was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, having served on the Women’s Ministry, an active Bible Study attendee, and even had a brief stint on the choir. Her most cherished ministry was the Daily Bread where she was able to provide services to those who were less fortunate.

A voracious reader, she was a student of life who never stopped learning. Linda was an enthusiastic nature lover who shared her reverence for nature with anyone she could persuade to take a hike. Aside from spending time with family, Linda enjoyed immersing herself in art, nature, journaling, and caring for animals. Linda’s love for animals generated a houseful of dogs, cats, birds, tortoises, goats, chickens, and horses to name a few. Later in life, Linda became a Gourmet Chef in her own kitchen!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles C. Posner and Mary A. Posner; and son-in-law, Barry K. Calhoun.

Her absolute proudest accomplishment were her children and grandchildren. Linda will be sadly missed by a special cousin, Marcus Sather; her brother, Gary (Denise) Posner; son, Wakyabya “Edward” (Christine) Kigwana; daughter, Nabirye “Diana” Calhoun and six grandchildren: Tavis, Rebecca, Bryce, Levi, Ava, and Laura; her pets, Jack (Miniature Schnauzer), Starfire (cat), Impy (horse), Coconut (bird), and Thoren (bird); and a host of nieces, nephews, and special relatives.
