Margaret Emily Langworthy

Margaret Emily Langworthy was born on September 15, 1950 in Canton, Ohio. Affectionately known as Margie, she was the daughter of James and Margaret Miller, and the sister of Carolyn, Nancy, and James. She was an honors graduate of both the County College of Morris and Centenary College. Margie married Richard Langworthy and their only child, Jason, was born a year later. Margie started her career working in financial services and then moved to telecommunications, working for Cingular Wireless and AT&T. She finished her career at AT&T Mobility as senior product development manager, marketing.
Margie deeply loved performing and listening to music, a love that she passed on to Jason – including encouraging him to play percussion as his primary instrument like she did. She was active in community theater – including the Chester Theater Group and The Growing Stage in New Jersey – and shared that hobby with Jason. Margie enjoyed watching sports of all types – from the Indianapolis 500 to the Rose Bowl to the US Open Tennis Championships. She especially enjoyed Ohio State Football, though she would often cheer for Minnesota because her son and daughter-in-law are Gophers (as long as they weren’t playing the Buckeyes). She was known for her warm hospitality and frequently hosted friends and loved ones for gatherings and parties. Her distinctive and infectious laugh was a hallmark of those gatherings. Margie loved dogs, including her Golden Retriever mix Emily and her Shetland Sheepdogs Auggie and Harry. She enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and driving her little red 1987 Porsche, which she owned for 31 years.
Margie is survived by her son Jason, daughter-in-law Sara, brother Jim, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
