William Earl Townshend Sr.

William Earl Townshend Sr. “Bill” of Clayton, GA passed away at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, GA on the 27th of May, 2019, at the age of 97.

Bill was born on the 6th of November, 1921 to his parents Chief Officer Charles Stuart Townshend and Estelle Hyde Townshend.

Bill is survived by his wife Jan Townshend, daughter Virginia Gizzi, step children Jan Silvey Denning, Shree Silvey Paty, and Owen W. Silvey. His brother John Townshend. Along with several grandkids and great grandkids.

He is preceded in death by sons Benny James Townshend, William Earl Townshend Jr., Paul Townshend and his brothers Charles Stuart Townshend jr, Donald Hyde Townshend and Alan Townshend.

The family will hold a private graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cartersville, GA. where his ashes will be lovingly placed with his son Benny Townshend and first wife Doris Townshend.
