It is with great sadness that we announce that Tommy peacefully passed into eternity on October 15, 2022 with his loving sister Barbara by his side. His death followed several years of declining health.
Thomas Carl McGuire was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 24, 1954. He grew up in New Jersey and Delaware, and moved with his family to Roswell, Georgia in 1978. He lived in Cartersville, Georgia for the past 20 years.
Tommy had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh and was always willing to lend a hand to his friends and neighbors. He enjoyed going on cruises with his parents, and he was an avid lover of music, cats and model trains. Tom was very good at bowling and had a knack for fixing things. He spent several years helping to clean the neighborhood pool and was very
proud to be known as the pool captain. His macaroni salad was a favorite among his neighbors.
Tommy is survived by his older brother, Richard of Williston, Vermont and his two younger sisters, Barbara Mehlberg of Kennesaw, Georgia and Susan McGuire of Cary, North Carolina. He is predeceased by his younger brother, Jeff, and his parents June and Delbert McGuire.
The family wishes to thank Gloria Richardson and her daughter Danni, and also Carolyn Parrish, Pete Miller and Chris Malatia for their friendship and the support they provided Tom.
A memorial service celebrating Tommy’s life will be held in the near future.
