Sara Constance Hamilton

Sara Constance Wingard Hamilton, known affectionately to all as “Connie,” passed away Friday, July 31, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Karl H. Wingard Sr., and her mother, Sara Ahlgren Wingard. Connie grew up in Druid Hills. She had recently celebrated her 83rd birthday. Connie was born in Pensacola, Florida, and resided in Atlanta.

Connie will be remembered for telling her cute stories. She loved people and was not afraid to make new friends. Her beautiful smile and bright, cheerful voice will live on in our memories and hearts. She loved going to the beach, reading books, and watching game shows.

Connie was a member of the Dunwoody North Garden Club and the South Carolina Woman’s Club for many years, as her parents were from Columbia, South Carolina. These memberships brought her much happiness and connections with lovely ladies.

Our mom was a deeply loving and devoted mother and grandmother who found her greatest joy in her family. She loved to share her little “Grandma’s Brag Book.” Taking pictures of special moments was something she was passionate about her whole life.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Hamiltion Gagnon (Michael); her son, John E. Hamilton III; and her cherished granddaughters, Rachel Gagnon, Erica Wakefield, and Lisa Gagnon.

Interment will be held at Decatur Cemetery in Georgia at a private family ceremony.
