Sandra Jean Barfield

Sandra J. Barfield, age 8l, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on September 9, 2023. Sandra was
born on March 8, 1942, to William E. and Ollie Mae Barfleld in Atlanta, Georgia. Sandra is survived by her sister,
Janice Owen, and brother Ken Barfield; niece, Lori Shellnutt, and her husband, Ryah, and their son William.
Sandra graduated from Roswell High School in Roswell, Georgia. She later earned degrees in education from
Georgia State University, Tift College, and Nova University, where she earned her doctoral degree. She was an active
member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia.
Sandra was a kind and fun-loving person who loved the Lord. She taught Sunday school for over three decades.
She loved reading, traveling, watching movies, collecting teddy bears, and was a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta
Falcons, and Atlanta Braves. She spent her last few years as a resident at Golden Rose Personal Care Home in
Marietta, Georgia.
Celebration of Life service to be held on October 27, 2023, at the Sandy Plains Baptist Church, Marietta, GA, at 1:00
PM.
