Rosalind Sasser

Rosalind Sasser of Atlanta passed away on May 27, 2016. Rosalind was born on May 8, 1925, at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, the daughter of the late William Milo and Nanlo Shank Price. She was a graduate of Girls High School and Agnes Scott College, and married as a rising senior in 1945 to the late Robert F. Sasser, Sr. She did research work at the University of Iowa Medical Pathology Dept. Later she was employed as a parasitologist for the US Public Health Service, now known as the C.D.C., in Atlanta. She was also involved with her husband in the establishment of Sasser & Company, an engineering design and mechanical construction firm. Rosalind was a member of Cherokee Town & Country Club and Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church and particularly enjoyed her Radiant Sunday School Class. She was actively involved in bridge clubs, sewing club, and garden club. Rosalind is survived by two sons, Dr. Robert Sasser, Jr. Layne, of Nashville, TN, and Steve Sasser Bonner of Atlanta, and a daughter, Rene’ Sasser of New Braunfels, TX. She also leaves behind six wonderful grandchildren, Lylly Blare, Robby Sasser, Blakely Sasser Engel, Laura Sasser Coleman, Christy Cosentino and Stephen Wilkerson, and two great-grandchildren, M’Liyah Blare and James Engel.
The family will have a private graveside service at Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
