Robert Burrud Cory

Family and friends of Robert Burrud Cory note his passing on February 16, 2010 after a lengthy illness, at age 60. Mr. Cory, son of John Burrud Cory and Grayson Hungerford Cory, deceased, was a native of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and had recently moved to Atlanta.
Mr. Cory attended the University of Tennessee prior to accepting his appointment to the United States Naval Academy, where he graduated in 1973. He joined the United States Marine Corps and earned the Rank of Captain prior to leaving the service.
Final arrangements are being handled by the Cremation Society of Georgia, with a service planned in April for interment in the Forsyth City Cemetery, Forsyth, Georgia. Mr. Cory is survived by several cousins including his cousin, Marsha Heard who was his caregiver during his final illness.
