Richard Perry Foote

Dick Foote of Dunwoody died at home on November 18, 2018 at the age of 89. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 3, 1929 to Frank and Marcile Foote. Dick is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret (Peg) Foote; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark (Ann) and Steve (Kim), and daughter and son-in-law Nancy (Skip); along with four grandchildren, Jordan Foote (Laura), Kevin Foote, Abigail Dolan, Jenna Dolan, and one great-grandchild, McCartney Foote. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary.

A graduate of Michigan State University, Dick served three years in the United States Army, including 15 months in Korea during the Korean conflict. He began his long career with Kemper Insurance in Chicago and later transferred to Summit, New Jersey and finally to Atlanta where he retired on September 1, 1992 after 37 years. Dick was an avid golfer who began playing at age 12, was a long-time member of Dunwoody Country Club, and achieved his three goals of a single digit handicap, shooting his age, and a hole in one.

Dick and Peg were long-time members of Dunwoody United Methodist Church, where his memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., visitation preceding the service at 1:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Dunwoody United Methodist Church.
