Peter Green Kessenich

Peter Green Kessenich, Sr. of Marietta, GA passed away on January 15, 2018 at the age of 70.
Peter is survived by his wife of 46 years, Veronica “Ronnie” Henry Kessenich; son Peter G. Kessenich, Jr., wife Mary Ann and their daughter Elleighfare; daughter Veronica L. Kessenich. He is also survived by his brother J. Fredrick “Rick” Kessenich, wife Suzanne “Suzy” of Covington, LA and their children and families. He is preceded in death by his mother, Shirlee “Rusty” Huppenbauer Kessenich and father, F.F. “Fritz” Kessenich.
Peter was born on March 11, 1947 in New Orleans, LA. He attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aero-Space Engineering. He received his Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. While at Notre Dame, Peter met Ronnie, the love of his life, whom he married in 1971. They came to Atlanta for their honeymoon and to start their lives together.
Peter began his career with Arthur Anderson & Co. His love of business and transportation led him to a decade plus career at MARTA. After working closely with Philadelphia-based Public Financial Management, Inc., Peter was offered the opportunity to start their Atlanta-based division specializing in consulting services for municipalities, cities, and transportation. His clients included: the Board of Liquidations for New Orleans; the City of New Orleans; Dekalb County, GA; Gwinnett County, GA; the Michigan Department of Transportation; the Maryland Department of Transportation; the Maryland Transportation Authority; and WMATA, Washington, D.C. On April 28, 2011, The Maryland Transportation Authority entered a resolution into its minutes honoring Peter’s valued financial advice over many years as a Managing Director of Public Financial Management, Inc.
Peter will be remembered as an intelligent, soft-spoken, and generous husband, father, and grandfather – with a very sardonic sense of humor.
