Olivia Purcell Scott

Olivia Purcell Scott of Atlanta – at 90 years of age – left her earthly home and joined God’s Angels the morning of May 24th,2022.

She was preceded in passing by her husband, Burton Scott, of 54 years – her parents, Lannes and Annie Merle Purcell – and two younger brothers John and Jerry Purcell of Glennville, Georgia. Olivia is survived by her four sisters – Debbie P. Warren of Baxley GA, Fay P. Cantrell of Knoxville TN, Mary P. Cooper of Birmingham AL and Martha P. Maass of St Simons Island GA.

By growing up on a farm, Olivia developed a strong work ethic – and had a strong natural drive. She worked for the U.S. Navy, Air Force, FAA and IRS in Washington DC, Hawaii and later in Atlanta.

Olivia was an avid student of metaphysical teachings – first in Christian Science, then the Infinite Way and then as a teacher in A Course in Miracles. The sentence, “I am here only to be truly helpful”, was the way she looked at her life.

A memorial service will be held later.
