It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Michael Charles McMillan. He was born August 21, 1957, in Rochester, NY, and passed away on April 18, 2025, in Atlanta, GA. He left us to grieve his loss, but we will always carry his memory in our hearts.
Michael was a loving father, grandfather, son, and brother. He loved music, the beach, Braves baseball, and he had an infectious sense of humor. He was a proud veteran of his time served in the US Army Engineers. He had a black belt in Tae Kwan Do and was very proud of his accomplishments. He spent his teenage years in Cherryville, NC, where he attended high school and still has many friends there.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Cochran McMillan, his father, Charles E. McMillan, and a brother, James (Jimmy) Johnson. Survivors include his son Christopher McMillan, (Amanda), his grandchildren, Addison and Aiden, his mother, Betty Brasfield Johnson, of the home, his sisters, Debbie, (Bob), Clarksville, IN, Susan Whitener, (Jerry), Winston Salem, NC, Denise Johnson, (Alan), Denver, CO, brothers, William (Billy) Johnson, of the home, Scott McMillan, (Kate), Frenchburg, KY, two very special uncles, Billy Brasfield, Jackson, TN, and Bob Brasfield (Brenda), Olive Branch, MS., and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends!
A memorial service will be held at the Morrow United Methodist Church on May 17, 2025, at 5985 Jonesboro Road, Morrow, GA. 30260
Visitation is at Noon, and the service will be at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), 1875 Eye Street, NW, Suite 1100, Washington, DC. 20006, (Or the website at PVA.org)
