Merle Smith Simpkins

Merle Smith Simpkins passed away on May 21, 2016 due to complications following cancer. He was 82.

Merle is survived by his wife Buna Johnson; daughter Cindy Simpkins Holeva and son-in-law Dan Holeva of Woodstock, GA; daughter Sandra Simpkins Tersegno and son-in-law Vincent Tersegno of Rochester, NY; and one granddaughter, Erin Tersegno of Rochester, NY.

Merle was born on August 1, 1933 in Riverside, NJ to Smith and Eva Simpkins. After serving in the Navy, Merle moved to Atlanta and began working for BellSouth where he retired after 33 years.

At Merle’s request, no services will be held. Burial with Military honors will at the Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be expressed at www.csog.com.
