May Doreen Clark

April 3, 1925 — July 7, 2017

Doreen Clark of Stone Mountain, Georgia passed away peacefully on July 7, 2017 at the age of 92.

Born May Doreen Easton in Plymouth England on April 3, 1925 to an English father and Scottish mother, Doreen served in the Women’s Auxiliary Corp in England during the Second World War. It was during this time she met her future husband, Raymond M. Clark, who was serving in the Eighth Air Corp. They married and made their home in Chicago before moving to Stone Mountain in 1964.

An avid gardener, she enjoyed helping maintain the grounds of her church as well as her prized roses, camellias, hydrangeas, and other flowers around her home. She volunteered at the Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) in Stone Mountain. Widowed in her later years, she enjoyed regular visits with long term friends and family and caring for her great grandchildren, all of whom will miss her soft, but determined fighting spirit.

She is survived by sons Raymond, Colin and Steven, daughter Pamela Saint, grandchildren Brittany Sexton, Christine Meredith, Amy and Richard Glosson, and great-grandchildren Chastity, R.J. and Kayla Meredith, Ashley and Kylie Sexton.

A celebration of Doreen’s life for family and close friends will be announced at a later date.

Donations in memory of Doreen can be made to FODAC, 4900 Lewis Road, Stone Mountain, Georgia 30083 (website fodac.org).
