Mary Ann Coppoletti Porter (Niney), 90 of Cartersville and Jasper, Georgia passed away peacefully at Fite Living Center in Cartersville, GA on May 21, 2026. She was a loving mother and grandmother as well as a dedicated Certified Public Accountant. Mary was born in Rockford, Illinois on February 20, 1936 to John Ross Coppoletti and Anne Marie DeLannoy Coppoletti. She married George Franklin Porter in 1960 and they shared nearly sixty years together before his passing in 2019.
Mary earned her degree from Kennesaw State University in 1982 and enjoyed a long career with her accounting practice. She was a member of the American Society of Women’s CPA’s and served a term as President of the Georgia Chapter as well as serving on the National Board as Treasurer.
Mary is survived by her children Matthew Porter (Mary) of Cartersville, GA and Jennifer Wilson (Jim) of Bethleham, PA, four grandchildren: Zachary Porter, Savannah Lawson (Drew), Tyler Porter (Shira) and Catherine Wilson as well as two great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her siblings Shirley Veit, John Coppoletti (Diann), Thomas Coppoletti (Janice), Mona Tufts (John) and Patti Rust (John).
Mary was an active member of The Episcopal Church of the Holy Family in Jasper, Georgia serving as Treasurer for four years and also serving as Treasurer of Good Samaritan Health and Wellness Center for six years. She loved animals, especially her cats. She also enjoyed traveling with her grandchildren and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs.
A memorial service will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Family in Jasper, GA on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
