Leslie Jean Ivie

We are sad to announce the passing of Leslie Jean Ivie., known always as ‘Jean’.

She lived previously in Cartersville but for the last few years resided at The Oaks in Alpharetta. She was 97. Jean was a graduate from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in New York City. She and her husband Bill raised their family in Harrington Park, NJ. She had a long career as a nurse in intensive care and later in cardiac rehabilitation. While Jean lived in Cartersville, she was an active volunteer and docent for the Booth Western Art Museum.

She was preceded in death by her husband William George Ivie and her grandson Douglas William Ivie. She is survived by her three children: William George Ivie Jr, David Alan Ivie, and Susan Ivie Barrett. Her grandchildren: Sara Jean Barrett, Julia Barrett, William Barrett Jr., David Ivie Jr., Matthew Ivie, Caitlin Webster, Christine Ivie. Her great grandchildren: Hadley Ivie and Poppy Ivie.

There will be a gathering to celebrate her life for family members and close family friends.
