Jeremy Crispin Garlington

Jeremy Crispin Garlington was a thoughtful advisor, writer, and mentor who spent much of his career helping others navigate moments of change and transition. Through his consultancy, Point of View, LLC, and his writing in The Garlington Report (TGR)—a publication he was especially proud of—Jeremy encouraged leaders and professionals to rethink their paths and shape new narratives for the future. Known for his distinct point of view, Jeremy was never afraid to swim a little upstream from the crowd, offering perspective that was thoughtful, honest, and often refreshingly different. He believed that life was less about controlling outcomes and more about the effort we bring to the work before us. As he often said,

“You don’t control the outcome, only the inputs.”

Jeremy was a devoted grill master who ruled the Big Green Egg with confidence and pride, turning grilling into a craft he truly enjoyed. He had even begun working on a cookbook inspired by his love of food and the simple pleasure of sharing a good meal. Jeremy appreciated a fine whiskey, a good cigar, and time spent with Tina, often together on the front porch — better known as the “Front Porch Bar” — where family and friends would join them for conversation and quiet evenings. Traveling through Ireland, England, Scotland, and Italy was another joy they shared, enjoying the food, history, and spirit of the places they explored. Jeremy was also an enthusiastic sports fan, especially when it came to the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Atlanta Braves, teams he followed with the same loyalty and passion he brought to everything else in life.

Faith was a cornerstone of Jeremy’s life. He was an active member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, where he led and was deeply involved in several men’s Bible study groups—something he truly loved and took great pride in. The groups meant a great deal to him, offering fellowship, thoughtful discussion, and a place where faith and life could be explored together. Jeremy valued the conversations, the friendships, and the shared pursuit of faith that grew from those gatherings.

Jeremy shared a loving and devoted partnership with Tina, with whom he built a life filled with travel, thoughtful conversation, faith, and quiet evenings on the porch. Together they built a life rich in love, friendship, laughter, and shared adventures.

Jeremy was loving, friendly and generous with his family and friends. He loved and cared deeply for Tina’s children, Dominic and Olivia, and cherished the role they played in his life, taking great pride in watching them grow and being part of their journey. He is survived by his sister, Meredith Garlington. Jeremy was predeceased by his parents, Aubrey Sam Garlington Jr. and Carol Marty Garlington.

Jeremy will be laid to rest at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, where his family has deep roots and where his parents are also laid to rest—a place that has long been meaningful to the Garlington family.
