Jason David Schultz

October 12, 1961 — March 21, 2021

Jason David Schultz was born on October 12, 1961 to Sheldon and Inez Schultz in Atlanta, GA.

He was the youngest of 5 children. David was a graduate of Briarcliff High School, class of 1979. After high school, David began working in a pawn shop, learning enough to know he enjoyed the business and was good at it. David also had an incredible artistic talent that could, no doubt, have been part of a successful career. In 1985, he launched Jason’s Pawn Shop in the Emory area. David and his shop quickly became well known fixtures in the area, going on to win Creative Loafing awards for Best Pawn Shop over several years.

David, as his oldest friends and family called him (Jason to his customers) was an incredibly kind, warm, and engaging person. It seemed that all who met him would come to like or love him.

His last years were difficult, as he had begun to show signs of Huntington’s disease.

To all who knew him or remember him from school or the pawn shop: we ask that you remember him as the sweet, tall, handsome guy with a quirky sense of humor and infectious smile that he was.

We, his surviving family will miss him so very much. His siblings, Rita Parker, Rick Parker (Robin), Sarah Schultz Boyce ( Randy), Karen Schultz McNeil (Ronnie), nieces and nephews, Reuben Williams, Drayton, Keelan, and Carson Parker, Ilana and Joseph Cornely, Annie McNeil Pruitt (Josh), in addition to several cousins, aunts and uncles.

We know he Rests In Peace and suffers no more.

If anyone wishes to honor David’s memory, please make a donation to the Huntington’s Disease Foundation at Emory, or the charity of your choice.
