James Scott Touchstone

James Scott Touchstone, age 61, of Smyrna, GA, beloved father, son, brother and uncle, passed away suddenly at his home April 25, 2014. He is survived by his children Jared Touchstone of Chicago, Illinois, and Isabel Touchstone of Smyrna, GA, mother Aline McDonald Jim of Spring Hill, Florida, sister Sherry T. Davis Ted of Cumming, GA, brothers Tom Touchstone Jan of Marietta, GA and Tod Touchstone Michelle of Conyers, GA, stepbrother Mark Bain Kelly of Atlanta, GA and his “best friend” ex-wife Suzanne Rose Touchstone of Smyrna. Nieces and nephews include: Julie Davis Dunn Mike of Suwanee, Kevin Davis Jennifer of Atlanta, Melanie Touchstone of Atlanta, Kayleigh Touchstone of Marietta, Jake Touchstone of Kennesaw, GA, Kelsi Nguyen of Conyers, GA, and Conner Touchstone of Conyers, GA. Great nephews: Davis Dunn and Denver Dunn of Suwanee.

Scott is predeceased by his father, Glenn Thomas Touchstone Tom Jr. Mary surviving, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Thomas Touchstone Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. W.H.P. Shell.

Scott graduated from Headland High School in 1971 in East Point, GA where he was an outstanding letterman in football, baseball and basketball. He was listed as an AJC Player of the Week several times in football.

After attending Middle Georgia College and West Georgia College, he founded at the age of 23 with his brother Tom, later joined by brother Tod, Automotive Refinishing Distributors ARD where he served as president. He presently was president of the 60-year-old family business Touchstone Auto Paints in Marietta, GA and Body Supplies in East Point, GA founded by his grandfather and father and owned by he and his siblings.

Other business ventures through the years included co-founding Bain Staffing with Mark Bain and various real estate ventures.

A man of many interests he leaves behind family and friends who will miss him greatly. A private Celebration of Life for Scott for family and friends will be planned later.
