Jim Conway, often referred to as Atlanta’s Dean of Corporate Photographers, passed away peacefully on May 07, 2017. Born, raised, and educated in New York City, he was preceded in death by parents Rose F. and James T. Conway and his sister Patricia Hesse. He is survived by son Christopher Conway and son-in-law Chip Hood.
Mr. Conway served as a U.S Army Supply Sargent during the Korean War. He embarked on a 60 year career of corporate photography when he moved to Atlanta in 1956, and his work took him to over sixty-seven countries photographing Royalty, Presidents, numerous foreign dignitaries, and national corporate executives. In retirement, he remained active through his involvement in the Atlanta Sister Cities organization and the Korean War Veterans Association.
A memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday June 3rd at 10:30 AM at the Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. Interment will follow at a later date in the Georgia National Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation made to the General Raymond G. Davis Chapter, KWVA. 234 Orchards Circle, Woodstock, GA 30188.
