Igor Fomin, 61 of Marietta, GA passed away on Sunday February 25, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones. Born May 7, 1962 in Munich, Germany, Igor was the son of Eduard and Lidia (Andrejewna Stoukaloff) Fomin. He was a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Ludwig Maximillian University of Munich with a Masters Degree in Physics and Mathematics. He was a Senior Software Developer at Fiserv for the last 20 years.
Igor was happiest in the company of his family, working in his yard, working with his team, reading, playing online poker, or chess. He was extremely intelligent and was quick to offer guidance and help to his teammates, as well as his children and their friends studying math and science. Igor paid great attention to the details. His commitment, kindness and support inspired those around him. He took great pride in his precision and meticulousness in all facets of life. He cared greatly for all those around him.
He is survived by his daughters, Anja and Katja Fomin of Chicago, IL, mother, Lidia Fomin of Ottenhofen, Germany, sister, Nadja (James) Munn of Ottenhofen, Germany, nephew, Alex Munn of Jacksonville, FL and niece, Marina Munn (Fabian Stange) of Poing, Germany and former wife, Lara Pearson of Janesville, WI.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Eduard Fomin. The family would like to thank Dr. Nicole Kounalakis, Gentiva Hospice and dear friends, Ward Gass, Efraín Medina, and Renee Olson for all of their kind and loving care.
Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held March 16, 2024 10am-Noon at the Deep Roots Wine Room at 400 Chambers St. in Woodstock, GA
